1483 - "Virgin of the Rocks"
In 1483 at age thirty-one, Leonardo was commissioned to paint "The Virgin of the Rocks", also called "Madonna of the Rocks". There are actually two different versions of the painting, one is hanging in the Louvre and the other is hanging at the National Gallery in London. Most of the differences are subtle, but a few are instantly noticeable like the lighting and color differences. The other, less noticeable differences appear in the angles and positions of the people and landscape.
